Telehealth services and expanded hours offered for patient convenience

Board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine, Dr. Xie diagnoses and treats individuals with such conditions as back pain, neck pain, joint pain, degenerative disc disease and herniated discs at her offices in Montclair and Metuchen. The extensive range of pain-relief procedures that Dr. Xie can provide includes trigger point injections, nerve blocks, platelet-rich plasma injections, and she has recently applied for her Suboxone® license.

Assisted by a highly trained and professional staff, Dr. Xie is the sole provider at Caring Pain Management, giving her patients consistency and the peace of mind that they will see the same physician every visit. By familiarizing herself with patients’ comprehensive health history and current conditions, Dr. Xie ensures the optimization of her patients’ health while building long-lasting relationships.

Caring Pain management follows strict guidelines to ensure patients’ health and safety, Dr. Xie said.

“From the time they call to schedule an appointment, we ask them if they have any symptoms, such as fever or cough. If they’re planning to come in for a visit, we ask that they wear a mask. If they don’t have one, we can provide one,” the physician said. “We limit the number of patients seen in one day and space them out as well. We also have a large waiting room compared to other practices. Our staff wears masks. We also wipe down the office and change gloves between patients.”

“My experience was excellent, no waiting time, and a very clean, comfortable environment,” noted recent Caring Pain Management patient Tahia R.

Patients preparing for procedures to be performed in a surgical center are requested by Dr. Xie to be tested for COVID-19 within six days of the procedure.

Convenient Care Administered Online

Caring Pain Management’s telehealth services, which enable patients to be treated remotely in the comfort of their residences, entail the scheduling of an appointment with the doctor via computer/phone screen and having a virtual visit.

“It’s very convenient. We offer extended hours and I can see patients any time they want. If you work, I can schedule an appointment for later in the evening or on the weekend,” she said. “We have easy-to-use, HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996)-compliant software that protects patients’ privacy.”

Caring Pain Management’s staff is ready to help those patients who require assistance with the platform. Utilizing telehealth appointments, Dr. Xie can view patients’ range of motion and recommend materials and exercises they can try at home to alleviate their discomfort. Also available are referrals to patients to physical therapists whose practices have remained open during the pandemic.

Always Accessible

Fluent in English and Mandarin, Dr. Xie provides patients her personal cell phone number, encouraging them to call or text her should the need arise.

Caring Pain Management’s staff members, who are fluent in Spanish, also can be contacted by cell phone. Appointments at Caring Pain Management, which accepts most insurance, can be made online.

“Any time they need me, we will be available,” Dr. Xie said.
